Delete Your Recaps Account

Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: Delete from Mobile App

  1. Open the Recaps app on your mobile device
  2. Go to your Profile or Settings
  3. Scroll down to find "Account Settings"
  4. Tap on "Delete Account"
  5. Confirm your decision by following the on-screen prompts
  6. You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours

Option 2: Email Request

If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion via email:

Subject: Account Deletion Request

Include:

  • Your registered email address
  • Your username (if applicable)
  • Reason for deletion (optional)

We will process your request within 48 hours and send you a confirmation email.

What Data Will Be Deleted?

✓ Data That Will Be Deleted:

  • Your profile information (name, email, profile picture)
  • All videos and photos you uploaded
  • Your comments and interactions
  • Your account preferences and settings
  • Your viewing history and activity logs
  • Authentication credentials

✗ Data That May Be Retained:

  • Legal compliance data: We may retain certain information if required by law, including for tax, legal reporting, or audit purposes (typically 7 years)
  • Security and fraud prevention: Anonymized data for security purposes (e.g., IP addresses for fraud detection)
  • Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized usage statistics that cannot identify you personally
  • Backup systems: Your data will be deleted from our backup systems within 30 days of deletion

Data Deletion Timeline

  • Immediate: Your account will be deactivated and you will be logged out
  • Within 24 hours: Your profile and content will be hidden from other users
  • Within 7 days: All personal data deleted from active databases
  • Within 30 days: Complete deletion from all backup systems

Before You Delete

  • Download your data: You can request a copy of your data before deletion by emailing support@recaps.app
  • Consider deactivation: If you're unsure, you can temporarily deactivate your account instead of deleting it
  • Outstanding payments: Ensure all pending transactions are resolved
